Independent Examiner needed: Life Insurance and Retirement Product Development - Actuaries Institute
We're seeking a Fellow to independently assess exam standards and marking equity for the Fellowship Life Insurance and Retirement Product Development Principles subject in Semester 2, 2026.
The role:
- Verify assessments meet Education Strategy Committee standards
- Ensure equitable student outcomes through marking review
- Work with Chief Examiner Simon Kong and LI&R Education Faculty
- Attend semester results meetings
- Time commitment: 15 hours per semester starting April 2026
Requirements: FIAA with 5+ years post-qualification experience in superannuation and/or life insurance.
Recent Institute marking or scrutineer experience (last 3 years) is desirable.
What you need to know: You'll work alongside our in-house education team who create materials and assessments. We'll train you on relevant policies and procedures. The role includes a small payment and CPD points.

The role:

- Work with Chief Examiner Jenifer Walton and liaise with the Professionalism Committee
- Attend semester results meetings
- Time commitment: 15 hours per semester starting January 2026
Requirements: FIAA with 10+ years post-qualification experience and demonstrated contribution to professional conduct and standards. Recent Institute marking or scrutineer experience (last 3 years) is desirable.
