Joining the reconciliation journey

The Actuaries Institute is partnering with PwC's Indigenous Consulting (PIC) to deepen our engagement with Australia's First Peoples.

This year's reconciliation theme 'More than a word. Reconciliation takes action', calls to build strong relationships with Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The Institute is committed to this call as we commence our partnership with PIC.

The Institute's engagement will deliver insight to our profession to deepen cultural understanding and use the Institute's public policy platform to consider outcomes for all Australians that are equitable and culturally appropriate.

In the coming months, we will introduce activities to increase member and staff awareness of Australia's ancient cultures. This will include actions to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contributions to Australia's heritage.

We will continue to acknowledge the traditional owners of Country in our formal meetings and events and will commence appropriate acknowledgement in our thought leadership and rich media content. We are excited to join Australia's reconciliation journey and encourage our members to use their professional calling to help us act and further Australia's reconciliation progress.
