GenAI in Practice: A Member Sharing Session - Sydney

Jenifer Walton, FIAA, is an Australian actuary with over two decades of commercial actuarial experience working in the UK and Australia.  She has worked in both actuarial and business management roles. Jenifer has worked as a "big four" consultant, with significant experience in both superannuation and investments as well as working with clients in life and general insurance projects.  Throughout her corporate career she’s been passionate about actuarial education and developing the careers of actuaries. Jenifer is currently Chief Examiner for Professionalism, Communication and AI in Practice (formerly Communications, Modelling and Professionalism) which now introduces students to the practical skills, ethical frameworks and professional responsibilities and judgement needed for using generative artificial intelligence.  Jenifer has been using GenAI to assist with teaching since 2025.

Victor Bajanov is the Director of Bajanov Advisory, an independent practice helping organisations make evidence-based decisions about AI investment, architecture, and governance. He advises on what to build, what to buy, and what to avoid — bridging deep technical expertise with commercial pragmatism. Victor spent over 20 years at Quantium as one of the firm's earliest employees, most recently as Executive, AI Transformation, where he led the enterprise-wide program to embed AI across Quantium's global operations. Over that period he held leadership roles spanning data science, product analytics, and engineering, with teams of up to 180 people, and was instrumental in establishing major joint ventures including CommbankiQ and Quantium Telstra. Victor is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, a member of the Actuaries Institute's Data Science and AI Practice Committee, and the author of the Institute's dialogue paper Where Are Australia's Data Science Leaders? He has served as an expert witness for the Federal Court of Australia and sits on the External Advisory Committee for data science courses at Western Sydney University. In 2018, he was recognised as one of Australia's Top 25 Analytics Leaders by IAPA.
