Nominations for Council positions are being accepted until Friday, 26 September 2025. All fellows that are current members are encouraged to consider standing for council.
As we deliver our Strategic Plan 2025-2027, we need diverse and dedicated leaders to help implement our plan and continue to deliver value for members.
The Council is responsible for:
- Leadership – Setting and implementing strategic plans and operational policies.
- Governance – Ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations, maintaining high standards of probity and transparency, and managing risks effectively.
- Stewardship – Protecting the reputation of the Institute and the actuarial profession by upholding and enforcing strict professional and ethical standards.
Our Council comprises 11 Councillors with diverse experience across general insurance, life insurance, data, superannuation, health, policy, and government sectors. The current composition includes 36% female representation, with 73% of Councillors based in New South Wales, 18% in Asia, and 9% in New Zealand.
