About this event

Trade the office chair for a climbing wall, and join YAP NSW for a Q4 wrap-up with a difference at BlocHaus Bouldering, Marrickville.

Whether you’re an experienced climber or have never set foot on a bouldering wall, this is a fun, active way to connect with other young actuaries across Sydney. Shoe hire is included, so all you need to bring is a sense of adventure (and maybe a few sore muscles the next day).

Arrive from 3:45pm for check-in, with climbing kicking off at 4:00pm. For anyone keen to keep the evening going, we’re organising an optional, self-funded catchup at a nearby venue afterwards.

Spots are limited - register early to secure your place.

Who should attend
Open to young actuaries and students under 35. No climbing experience necessary, just a willingness to give it a go.

Why attend

  • Meet other young actuaries from across NSW in an active, social setting.
  • Build connections across companies and career stages.
  • Try something different to the usual networking format.

*Participation in this event is voluntary and at your own risk. It is not covered by the Institute’s insurance.
*Refreshments at a nearby venue following the event are at your own expense.

Young Actuaries Program (YAP) connects young professionals through regular and engaging social activities, interactive workshops, and collaborative projects. The program creates spaces for forming lasting relationships, expanding networks, and helping shape the profession’s future direction. With a YAP community in NSW, VIC and QLD, we hope to see you at an event soon.
