About the Initiative

This event is part of the Actuaries Institute Career Series and the Young Actuaries Program. Throughout the year we offer specialised workshops, designed to assist young actuaries to develop and strengthen their career and leadership skills. Delivered quarterly in person and as watch parties across Sydney, Melbourne and other capital cities as well as virtually, the Career Series sessions pair practical skill-building with genuine networking, so members leave with both new capability and new connections.

Whether you're in-person with our speakers or gathered with peers at a watch party, the experience is the same: 45 minutes of networking and pizza on us, before we move into the formal session together. Virtual attendees join us for the formal session only.

About the presenters

Dylan Neenan, Head of AI Solutions at Finity

Dylan is an actuary specialising in the development of GenAI systems. With over ten years’ experience in product development and insurance analytics, he is at the forefront of the latest AI developments, helping insurers and underwriting agencies modernise their operations and embed AI across their organisations. Dylan co-leads Finity’s AI and Insurtech practices, with wealth of experience in machine learning, data analytics, and personal and commercial lines pricing. Dylan is always on the lookout for innovative opportunities to implement new technology to further his clients’ goal.

Yige Wang

Yige is an actuarial professional (FIAA, CERA) with broad experience spanning actuarial practice, analytics, and strategic planning. As an Actuarial Manager at Zurich Australia, she brings nine years in the life insurance industry and has recently moved into general insurance pricing, applying predictive modelling and financial analysis to guide business decisions, support executive strategy, and improve customer outcomes. A previous secondment with Zurich Japan's actuarial team gave her an international perspective and a lasting appreciation for cross-market collaboration.

Lachlan Clark

Lachlan Clark is an actuary at KPMG’s Sydney office, with experience spanning a wide range of positions across Australia in both insurance and data analytics. His current role focuses primarily on General Insurance and data analytics projects, where he applies actuarial approaches in both traditional and emerging areas. Lachlan has worked across a wide range of areas including climate risk, banking, workforce and supply chain modelling as well as in reserving and pricing roles for a variety of general insurers both domestic and internationally including supporting audit and appointed actuary roles. He brings a practical, data-driven approach to addressing emerging risks and challenges in the industry.
