Chao Qiao

Chao is an actuarial consultant with PwC who provides consultancy services in general insurance premium pricing, reserving, forecasting, monitoring, data collection and experience analysis. Chao also works on broader projects within the financial services industry, including regulatory reviews, product research and risk management. Chao is a recently qualified young actuary, and actively participates in research and discussions, especially on longevity insurance.

Liz Martin

Liz is a qualified actuary and currently works in the Risk Strategy team at KPMG in Melbourne. Her professional interests include risk management, M&A and data analytics, mostly in the Life Insurance and Superannuation space. Outside of work you’ll probably find her running around Melbourne, at the gym, climbing mountains, travelling, reading a book or hunting for the next undiscovered café/restaurant!

Melanie Dunn

Melanie Dunn is the Technical Services Manager – Retirement Income and SMSF at Challenger. Melanie is responsible for the development and delivery of technical content for Accurium, a subsidiary of Challenger Limited specialising in providing actuarial services and retirement strategies to the SMSF market, and the development of Challenger’s retirement tools for advisers.

Melanie is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia specialising in Global Retirement Income Systems. She has over ten years’ technical experience in superannuation where her extensive knowledge and passion for SMSFs and retirement has seen her develop into a thought leader and coveted educator.  Melanie’s areas of interest include using actuarial techniques in modelling retirement, superannuation income streams and the regulatory environment.

Chen Yang

Chen is an integration actuary at AIA Australia. Prior to her current role she was on AIA’s graduate program rotating through pricing, valuation and data analytics and completed her last rotation at AIA Group Office in Hong Kong. She is passionate about organising events and knowledge sharing sessions aimed at people engagement and knowledge transfer. Outside work she enjoys exploring nice food and travelling.

Queenie Chow

Queenie like to call herself an “actuary without border” – a passionate actuary working in global development and inclusive insurance. Inspired to make insurance accessible to all, she has previously worked with the Impact Insurance Facility as part of the United Nation’s International Labour Organization across countries like Kenya in Africa and Philippines in Asia. Queenie is an associate actuary with close to 10 years of experience working in consulting and currently works as an independent consultant within the micro-insurance innovation space.

Louis Zhu

Louis is an actuarial graduate who has been working in several data analytical roles in the past five years. He has recently passed Part I and II of IoAA and is passionate about using his actuarial capabilities in insurance industry. Louis is very keen in participate voluntary work and has special interest in developing skillsets with young actuaries in this fast changing world.

Ean Chan

Ean is an actuarial senior consultant at EY, working in the Life Insurance and Wealth Management team. He qualified last year as a Fellow of the Institute and a Certified Enterprise Risk Actuary. Ean is also part of the Institute’s Life Insurance Data Analytics Working Group (LDAWG) which aims to promote actuaries in life insurance related data analytics and provide a forum for actuaries working in this space. He is keenly interested in machine learning and hopes to help facilitate the use of these skills to actuarial problems in the future.
