Naomi is an actuary and a professional company director. Following an executive career with Trowbridge Consulting and then Deloitte, Naomi became involved with the wider actuarial fields, including advising a wide group of environmental organisations. She then embarked on a career as a company director, chairing the listed Australian Ethical Investments and sitting on the boards of funds managers, ASX listed companies and superannuation funds. She is currently Chair of Tasplan Super where she has led the fund through three mergers in the last four years. She joined the Board of the Actuaries Institute from January 2020.

Elayne is CEO of the Actuaries Institute Australia. As an Actuary with over 20 years’ experience, Elayne has worked across a spectrum of industries, including general insurance and consulting. She has provided strategic economic and financial advice on valuations, risk margin analyses, catastrophe modelling, strategic options, M&A and dynamic financial advice.

Prior to the Actuaries Institute Australia, Elayne was an Executive Director at EY where she worked on the climate change portfolio, and a Sustainability Researcher at IAG reporting to the CRO on developing IAG’s climate change and carbon strategy. Elayne also chaired IAG’s emerging risks working group and was responsible for IAG’s role in the analysis of the impact of an emissions trading scheme on the economy.

Nicolette has over 25 years’ experience organising global and national association events ranging from 50-3,000 delegates across a range of industries including medical, financial services, education, mining and construction. Nicolette has overseen large project teams, multiple Organising Committees, complex scientific programmes of more than 200+ global speakers, managed large exhibitions and managed sponsorship/commercial partners agreements of $2m+ revenue. Currently, Nicolette is the Strategic Adviser to the ICA being held 2023 and an independent consultant to associations using her diverse industry exposure with strong abilities to build on execution of strategic goals, governance, campaign management, event and member products across multiple platforms throughout Australia and Asia Pacific.

Annette King joined the Actuaries Institute Board in 2018. She is an experienced actuary, company director, and previously CEO, with over 30 years’ experience in financial services across Asia-Pacific. Prior to becoming a non-executive director, Annette had a successful track record as a CEO, CFO and CMO of significant financial institutions, as well as being a founder/entrepreneur. Annette has served large multinational companies (Swiss Re, AXA, Manulife, Mercer) and fintech companies (AFG, FNZ, Galileo Platforms).

Her focus is on business growth through differentiated client experience, organizational culture and innovation via digital and technology enablement. In addition to responsibilities in Australia and New Zealand, Annette has lived and worked for 14 years in Asia. She serves on the boards of Swiss Re, MLC Superannuation, Australian Finance Group (ASX: AFG), U Ethical Investors, Galileo Platforms and the Actuaries Institute.

She was previously President of the Life Insurance Association of Singapore, served on the Singapore Actuarial Society and the Hong Kong Advisory Committee for the AICD. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and has a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University. She is a member of AICD’s APRA Forum and a member of Chief Executive Women.

Iris Lun is Co-founder and Director of 10Life, an insurtech company based in Hong Kong focussed on bringing transparency to insurance consumers. Iris has 20 years of international experience in the insurance industry across Australasia and Europe. Prior to starting 10Life, Iris held various actuarial and business positions at global consulting and life insurance companies including Prudential, ING Group and Towers Watson, covering areas in pricing, valuation, product development, risk management and strategic business management. Iris is a Fellow of the Actuaries Institute Australia and the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong, and holds a combined Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial Studies) and Arts (Japanese) degree from the University of Melbourne.

Fred has worked for over 40 years in the life insurance industry and is an experienced financial and general manager. As a senior actuary, he has advised companies, boards, and insurance regulators. Fred led the actuarial workstream supporting the AUD$20bn demutualisation of the Australian Mutual Provident Society whilst also served as Chief Corporate Actuary of AMP Ltd until 2004. Until 2015 he was Chief Actuary of TAL Life.

From 2007 to 2009, Fred was instrumental in negotiating the CERA treaty, which was signed in Hyderabad, India, in 2009. This treaty brought together many leading actuarial associations worldwide to create the first globally-recognised credential for actuaries, in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). He was President of the Actuaries’ Institute in 2007, and President of the International Actuarial Association in 2015.

David’s current position is Chief Risk Officer, Advice & Insurance at CBA. He has had more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry in a variety of business and actuarial roles. His career has spanned general and life insurance, three different multinational insurers and three consulting firms, encompassing roles in reserving, pricing, underwriting, risk management and general management. David was previously Chief Reserving Actuary for Zurich’s Asia-Pacific general insurance businesses, spanning nine countries, from 2013 until October 2018. Prior to that he was a Partner at KPMG, and before that he headed up Product Management and Pricing at Allianz Australia for five years.
