Andrew is an experienced financial services professional who specialises in providing actuarial and strategic consulting advice to leading companies and superannuation funds with over.  

During his career, Andrew has driven research and public policy in various areas of interest, including retirement adequacy, retirement income products and solutions, member disclosure and advice, member engagement and digital solutions, governance and risk management. 

Andrew is currently a member of the Institute's Public Policy Council Committee (2019-current) and Chair of the Retirement Strategy Group (2017-19; 2020-current), and was previously Convenor of the Superannuation Practice Committee (2008-17) and a Member of Council (2012).

Jules brings over 30 years of professional and actuarial consulting experience to ICA2023. 

He returned to Australia in 2019 following being a Senior Policy Advisor at the IAIS for 6 years and is now a Principal at PFS Consulting. Since 2000, Jules has been involved with delivering capacity building for both the actuarial profession in Australia and international supervisors. He also represents Australia on several IAA (International Actuarial Association) committees.

Jules was elected for a second term to the Council of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in 2019 and since 2018 has been a volunteer supporting ICA2023.

David is a Senior Partner at Mercer and Senior Actuary for Australia and has more than 40 years industry experience. He is the National Leader for Research and Policy and the actuary to the Tasmanian and Western Australian public sector superannuation plans. He is the lead author of the Mercer CFA Institute Global Pension Index.

David has acted as a consultant to a range of financial organisations, in both the private and public sectors, specialising in the superannuation and retirement incomes area. He has spoken and written widely in this area and served on many Government and industry committees and was President of the Actuaries Institute in 2000.

Danny is a consulting actuary within KPMG Australia’s Actuarial and Financial Risk practice.

He has over 10 years’ experience in supporting life insurance, retirement income and wealth management clients across Asia Pacific in a range of areas including financial reporting for insurance liabilities on various bases, capital and risk management, appraisal valuations, appointed actuary advice, merger and acquisition due diligence, planning and strategy, experience analysis, pricing and product development.

He has worked in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Danny is a proud and active volunteer for the activities of the Actuaries Institute.

Estella has over 34 years’ experience and was a partner and head of actuarial services of KPMG China, based in Hong Kong prior to her retirement in 2017. Before joining KPMG in 2013 she worked for HSBC Insurance for 20 years and was the Asia’s chief actuary from 2006 to 2011.

Estella was appointed to the board of HSBC Life (Shanghai) in 2010. Since retirement Estella has taken on non-executive directorships for Insurance companies.

She is also member of Hong Kong Insurance Authority’s Industry Advisory Committee and a Council advisor of the HK Institute of Monetary Research. Estella has been active with the IAA and is currently a member of the Executive Committee.

Sarah Duncan is the Team Leader of Events at the Actuaries Institute, with over 10 years of industry experience. She oversees 80+ Institute events a year.

Scott is an actuary and Principal at Taylor Fry. He has advised a range of general insurers, corporates and regulators, and has held several appointed actuary roles. Scott recently chaired the Actuaries Institute’s Financial Services Royal Commission Steering Committee. Scott focuses on the social purpose of insurance and the importance of applying a combined social and technical lens to actuarial work.

Nicolette has over 25 years’ experience organising global and national association events ranging from 50-3,000 delegates across a range of industries including medical, financial services, education, mining and construction.

Nicolette has overseen large project teams, multiple Organising Committees, complex scientific programmes of more than 200+ global speakers, managed large exhibitions and managed sponsorship/commercial partners agreements of $2m+ revenue.

Currently, Nicolette is the Strategic Adviser to the ICA being held 2023 and an independent consultant to associations using her diverse industry exposure with strong abilities to build on execution of strategic goals, governance, campaign management, event and member products across multiple platforms throughout Australia and Asia Pacific.

Christian is a recognised director with over 25 years’ experience working in the non-profit organisation sector focusing primarily in the areas of communications, membership and events, with strong professional skills in policy development, governance, business planning and program management.

Christian began his career as an administrative assistant at the Canadian Institute of Actuaries in 1996. Since 1998, he has held progressively higher positions at the International Actuarial Association, including working with ICA organisers since 2006. Christian is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and a member of the Canadian Society of Association Executives.

Jessica Lilley

Jessica is a Senior Actuary at the National Disability Insurance Agency, leading the Actuarial Strategic Initiatives team. A Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, she has almost 15 years’ experience in the General Insurance and the disability sector.

Working with Scheme Actuary Sarah Johnson, Jessica has helped to support the establishment of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, first as a manager at Pricewaterhouse Coopers prior to its launch and then with the NDIA since 2014. In her current role, her focus is on modelling the long-term costs of the NDIS.

Fiona Tsang

Fiona has worked as a consultant and product manager in a broad range of sectors including pensions, life insurance and health insurance across the Australian and Hong Kong markets.

She has over eight years’ experience and is a strong advocate for simplifying financial products for the consumer through thoughtful product design.

Passionate about connecting people, she was President of the Monash Actuarial Students’ Society when the program first launched at Monash University and was also the Convenor of the MacRobertson Girls’ High School Business and Commerce Circle whose core mission is to connect alumni and current students interested in pursuing a career in business.
