They provide detailed feedback on past assignments and exams to assist your revision, and host tutorials and discussion forums to guide you through the materials.

Jenifer Walton - Communication, Modelling and Professionalism (CMP)

Jenifer Walton FIAA, has two decades of commercial actuarial experience working in the UK and Australia, in both actuarial and business management roles. Jenifer has worked as a "big four" consultant, with significant experience in both superannuation and investments as well as working with clients in life and general insurance projects.  Throughout her corporate career she’s been passionate about actuarial education, designing and delivering learning programs specifically tailored to assist with developing the careers of actuaries.

James Purvis - Asset Liability Management (ALM) and Investment (INV)

James Purvis FIAA has 40 years’ experience in investment management, research and advice. This includes managing investment portfolios, asset allocation as well as assessing and rating fund managers. James has held leadership positions and consulted to a diverse range of clients over the years. James applies his significant expertise to enhance the student experience.

Dimity Gartzionis - General Insurance and Health Principles

Dimity Gartzionis FIAA, has over 20 years’ experience in general insurance and health insurance, including consulting and corporate roles. Dimity has been both an internal and external Appointed Actuary and held statutory roles across both health insurance and general insurance. She brings a commercial focus to the General Insurance and Health Pricing and Portfolio Analytics (GIHPPA) and General Insurance and Health Valuation (GIHV) subjects.

John Evans - Banking (BNK)

John Evans, FIAA, and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary, brings over 15 years of banking experience from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he led the Enterprise Risk and Capital Advisory team and worked directly with senior executives and board directors.  John has also delivered immersive banking simulation training to staff at all levels across Australian and international banks. His deep expertise in risk management, capital, treasury and governance, combined with his passion for education and coaching, benefits the Banking students.

Zach Tirrell - Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Data Science Applications (DSA)

Zach Tirrell FIAA, has experience in a diverse range of industries including healthcare, education, financial services and data analytics. He is a PhD candidate at the Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy, conducting qualitative and quantitative research projects on the risk associated with new medicines in Australia. Zach applies his hands on experience in risk and analytics together with his passion or applying actuarial skills in emerging fields.

Simon Kong - Life Insurance Principles and Applications (LIRV, LIRPD, LIA)

Simon Kong FIAA, is an experienced life insurance actuary with over a decade working at Australian life insurers and reinsurers. His experience has included assumption setting and valuations, experience analysis, capital and risk management, financial forecasting, financial condition reports, pricing and product development. This expertise informs his teaches teaching of Life Insurance and Retirement Product Development (LIRPD), and Life Insurance and Retirement Valuation (LIRV) and Life Insurance Applications (LIA).

Jacqui Reid - General Insurance Applications (GIA)

Jacqui Reid FIAA, has significant actuarial consulting experience advising companies, insurers, reinsurers and captives in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Bermuda and Switzerland. Her Australian experience includes leading a small actuarial team based in Sydney and Melbourne advising corporates, scheme Actuary for NT WorkSafe, developing a pricing model for a private health insurer and developing an operational risk measurement model for a major Australian bank.

Janice Jones - Superannuation and Retirement Applications (SRA) and Asset Liability Management (ALM)

Janice Jones FIAA has significant actuarial consulting experience in Australian superannuation and wealth management across a diverse range of employers and roles. She is currently a board member on a public sector superannuation fund which ensures she is across the current issues affecting the superannuation sector and investment portfolio management. She is keen to assist students develop their professional acumen and communication skills as part of their learning experience.
