The Actuaries Institute congratulates the following members recognised in Australian Honours lists.
Recognised for significant service to business
John Trowbridge OAM
John Trowbridge OAM received a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2025 for his significant service to business, to the risk management sector, and to the actuarial profession. The award recognises Mr Trowbridge's distinguished career as an actuary, consultant, executive, company director and regulator, with his expertise fundamentally shaping Australia's insurance landscape and regulatory framework. His leadership has influenced major reforms across the financial services industry and enhanced protection for Australian consumers.
Recognised for significant service to business
Nicolette Rubinsztein AM
Nicolette Rubinsztein was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2024 for her significant service to business, particularly the finance and commerce sectors. The award recognises Ms Rubinsztein’s leadership, particularly in superannuation and retirement policy and advocacy, and for social issues including gender equality and climate change. She is a prominent advocate for women in STEM and female leaders in the business community.
Recognised for significant service to the financial sector
Dr David Knox AM
Dr David Knox AM was made Member of the Order of Australia in 2023 for his significant service to the financial sector. The award recognises Dr Knox’s significant contributions and achievements in shaping Australia’s retirement income system, supporting an equitable system for all Australians. His expertise has influenced retirement income reforms in developed nations and has also contributed to the development and design of an international pension index.
