Actuaries Institute Long COVID Working Group
The Long COVID Working Group was established in June 2023 to provide insights to actuaries about the potential impacts of Long COVID including an understanding of the definition, changes to underlying insurance risks associated with persistent symptoms and/or changes originating from the post-pandemic “new normal” ways of working and living.
The Working Group also seeks to inform the broader actuarial community of the evolving societal impacts from Long COVID, including impacts on the health system, government agencies and organisations outside the financial services industry.
The Actuaries Institute in collaboration with the Long COVID Working Group, has established this Knowledge Hub to provide relevant information to assist Members in better understanding the potential effects and implications of Long COVID. Information has been sourced from external Australian and international sources. Members are encouraged to critically evaluate the applicability of this information for their own requirements.
Members may also find helpful information in the Pandemic Resource Centre, which was developed by the Actuaries Institute during the earlier stages of the pandemic and focused on COVID-19. However, while much of this information remains relevant, Members are advised that the Pandemic Resource Centre is no longer updated.
