The Virtual Summit Experience

WATCHING THE VIRTUAL SUMMIT

We have developed a Virtual Summit Viewing Guide to ensure that everyone has the best experience.  Virtual Summit sessions will be streamed live AEST (Sydney time).

CPD POINTS

Members of the Actuaries Institute earn two CPD points per hour of viewing and networking. You can log your CPD points via the Virtual Summit entry in your member dashboard and amend the CPD points to reflect the number of hours you spent viewing and networking. Members of other associations need to contact the Events Team to obtain a proof of attendance communication to receive CPD points from their association.

Virtual Summit APP

The Virtual Summit App will be available for download prior to the Summit. It will include details about the program, speakers, synopses, papers, sessions as well as other useful information about the event.

Virtual Summit NEWSLETTER

In the weeks leading up to the Virtual Summit, a newsletter will be sent to delegates highlighting Summit papers, speakers and other useful information.  If you are presenting at the Summit, we encourage you to get your paper in by the due date to make sure it's included in the newsletter.

PAPERS AND PRESENTATIONS

Papers and presentations should be submitted one month ahead of the Summit. As soon as we receive the papers they will be uploaded to the website.

FAQs

How do I access the Virtual Summit sessions?

Prior to the Virtual Summit session, an email will be sent to you which includes the Zoom link and dial-in instructions. A few minutes before the session is due to start, please click the 'Join' link.  You will be prompted to enter your name and email, and then you will join the session.

Is there anything I need to do beforehand?

Read the Virtual Summit Viewing Guide and if you haven’t used Zoom before, please join a test meeting to familiarise yourself with the App.

Do I need to activate the camera or microphone on my device?

No - when you join the session the camera and microphone on your device will be muted. If you have any issues with your computer audio you can dial-in via phone. The email with the link to join the Summit Zoom session will also have audio dial-in details.

How do I ask the presenters a question?

Select Q&A at the bottom of your screen, type your question and click 'Send'.  Most presenters will answer questions at the end of their session.

I can’t watch this session live, am I able to watch it later?

Yes, you will be able to watch it later at a time that suits you.  Session recordings from the Virtual Summit will be available on the Summit App within 48 hours.

We recommend joining the session live where possible so you can ask questions, however, please note that you won't be able to rewind if you join the live session after it's started.
