Each year the Actuaries Institute produces a comprehensive Year in Review to ensure that Members and other interested parties are fully informed about the Institute's activities and future plans.
In 2017, the Institute with its members, engaged in a wide range of public policy issues stepping up as trusted advisors on climate risk, superannuation, social risk, mental health and more. This brought many of our members under the media spotlight, highlighting the exceptional work of actuaries across the spectrum.
We continued to deliver on high quality events, education and CPD material for members as well as bringing our valued volunteers to the forefront and acknowledging their efforts and contribution to the profession.
On page six, Past President Jenny Lyon reflects on her year that focused on the 'people' in our profession. Her engagement with the membership and efforts to promote the profession - a legacy.
Past CEO David Bell also penned his reflections on the year's achievements as well as his entire time as CEO of the Institute.
The Review also provides reports from Council Committees, Practice Committees, HQ business units and importantly, the member milestones achieved in 2017 and education prizes awarded.
