| Dr Michael Drayton Consultant to RMS
Michael has worked for RMS for twenty years. He joined the London office when it opened in 1996 and worked on the development of climate hazard models including European windstorm, UK storm surge and river flood as well as the first basin-wide US and Caribbean hurricane model. He returned to New Zealand in 2004, continuing to support existing models, including certification of the US hurricane model for use in Florida, and to update or develop new models including Australian cyclone and severe convective storm. He provided local input and review of the current New Zealand earthquake model in 2007. Since the Canterbury Earthquake Sequence began in 2010 he has been a liaison between RMS and local scientists, academics, engineers, insurers and regulators. Michael graduated from the University of Canterbury with a B.E. in Civil Engineering and received a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Cambridge in 1994.

| Ty Birkett Managing Director, Willis Re Australia
Based in Sydney, Ty works with insurance and government clients advising, modelling, structuring and placing reinsurance solutions. The role involves understanding the global capital, insurance and reinsurance markets and assisting clients developing the most efficient approach to managing large and extreme risks.
Additionally, Ty is responsible for the Actuarial and Financial Modelling team at Willis Re across Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Turkey and Africa.
Prior to joining Willis Re in 2005, he worked at Swiss Re where his role included structuring and underwriting tailored and non traditional reinsurance solutions, as well as Client Management.
He came to the Australian Reinsurance market after seven years of Actuarial Consulting in the United Kingdom, Melbourne and Sydney. Ty has been a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia for since 1996 and has a Masters of Economics. |
| Adam Searle Actuary and Partner, KPMG
Adam moved to Australia 10 years ago having previously worked for some of the UK’s largest general insurers. He has worked in a variety of roles including reserving, pricing, corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions and general management. Across Australia and New Zealand, Adam has provided actuarial advice and support to more than 30 general insurers and holds 4 Appointed Actuary roles. He conducted an industry wide ICAAP survey during 2014 and 2015 and has subsequently been engaged to perform independent ICAAP and risk reviews for various insurers. |

| Nicole Gamerov, FCA CA(SA) CFA Client Manager Government, Swiss Re, Sydney
Since joining Swiss Re in 2001, Nicole has been involved in a number of business development roles, using her finance background to develop new products and client segments. Nicole has responsibility for Swiss Re's public sector clients in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Nicole started her professional career with Deloitte, after which Nicole was appointed CFO of the JSE listed company, Cadiz Investment Bank.
Nicole has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town, and went on to obtain her Chartered Financial Analyst in 1999.
Nicole is a member of the Advisory Board of the Australian Centre for Financial Studies. The ACFS is Australia's premier research centre in financial services, providing a valuable platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing across Government, Academia and the Finance sector. |
| Anthony Robinson
Anthony is a senior IT, Information Security, and Risk Management professional with 20 years’ experience in delivery, sales, and practice management roles. Anthony joined EY in 2015 from Accenture where he started as a graduate and was progressively promoted to his previous role as Managing Director in the Australia and New Zealand Security & Risk practice. Previous to his role in Australia, he led Accenture’s UK Information Security consulting business.
During his career, Anthony has been involved in selling and leading the delivery of many strategy, advisory, large scale systems implementations, as well as multi-year outsourcing engagements. He has a broad range of industry experience across financial services, media, telecommunications, utilities, life sciences, retail, and mining. |
| Stuart Bingham General Manager, Diversified Institutions Division of APRA
Stuart Bingham has had a number of roles in his 8 years at APRA including Senior Manager in the Diversified Institutions Division where he has supervised ADI’s, Life Insurers, General Insurers and Superannuation Funds, Head of Life Insurance Risk in the Supervisory Support Division and Senior Actuarial Advisor, also in the Supervisory Support Division.
Stuart currently represents APRA on the Capital, Solvency and Field Testing Working Group of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.
Stuart has over 30 years’ experience in the life insurance and wealth management industry. Prior to joining APRA, Stuart worked at Westpac/BT Financial Group for 18 years. In that time he held a number of actuarial and finance roles. His last role with BT Financial Group was Head of Finance, Insurance. Stuart was also the Appointed Actuary for BT Financial Group’s life insurance companies and was responsible for capital management of BT Financial Group.

Tricia Hobson is an insurance and litigation lawyer based in Sydney. She is co-head of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Australian cyber practice, and head of Norton Rose Fulbright’s insurance practice in Australia and across Asia Pacific. Tricia has experience across all aspects of the insurance industry, with a particular focus on financial services, construction and cyber-related risks. Tricia has advised numerous local and London-based insurers in relation to various aspects of their cyber products, and has advised organisations on the wording of their cyber policies. She has also acted in a number of cyber-related matters. Tricia has a keen interest in innovation and the changing face of the insurance and legal sectors, including the evolving cyber-cover market.
