Alex Macoun leads Quantium’s product area and is responsible for the overall product strategy and delivery of the group.

She is responsible for Quantium’s full product suite, including our applied analytics products across all client industries and markets, our Media products, and our proprietary data and analytics platforms. Prior to this role, Alex led Quantium’s Media division, across product and consulting services.

She joined Quantium in 2015 following a career in strategy consulting with The Boston Consulting Group. Her focus for many years has been helping companies with disruptive technology and digital transformation, especially around customer engagement, media and marketing.

She is a graduate of The University of Sydney, with a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy and Advanced Pure Mathematics) and Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours), and achieved an MBA (Distinction) at Harvard Business School.

 

Hugh Miller is an actuary at Taylor Fry, where he has worked since 2006. There he undertakes work for both Analytics and General Insurance. His work includes reserving, pricing and understanding customer behaviour. Over the past few years he has had a particular focus on analytics for government, including welfare benefits and housing.

Hugh is also keenly interested in statistical techniques and technology. He completed his PhD in statistics at the University of Melbourne in 2010, which focused on datasets with thousands of predictors.

 Alan Whitelock-Jones

Alan Whitehouse-Jones is a senior actuary involved in Claims Experience analysis and data analytics at AMP.

He previously worked as a consultant for Towers Watson developing Actuarial Modelling Software.  He has wide experience in modelling and programming and the use of databases, but is a relative newcomer to Data Analytics.
Adrian Smolski Adrian Smolski is a seasoned and passionate Solutions Architect in the Big Data space.
Prior to joining Silicon Valley start up organisations, Adrian worked for large IT companies evangelising Distributed Data Platforms as well as building and leading Data Science teams for organisations in Australia.
Most of his career, Adrian spent working for insurance, finance and pharmaceutical companies in Australia and Germany.
 

Bob Williamson is the Chief Scientist, and Research Director of the Analytics program of Data61 and a Professor in the Research School of Computer Science at the Australian National University.

  Lorna Ash, is the Senior Brand Manager, RB. Lorna has worked at RB for 8 years, and prior to that was at Unilever UK. Lorna has held various roles at RB across trade marketing, shopper marketing and recently moved in the Senior Brand Manager position. Lorna’s passion is turning shopper insights into meaningful campaigns ATL abs BTL. Lorna competed an Accounting, Economics and Finance degree from Oxford Brookes University.

Jenny Lyon is the Senior Vice President of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.  She sits on Council, the Presidential Committee, Public Policy Council Committee, Data Analytics Working Group and convenes the Education Development Group for the Institute.  She has chaired the Leadership Committee and sat on numerous other committees.

Jenny is a Director of SKL, a specialist actuarial recruitment firm and she has over 20 years’ experience advising and recruiting actuaries in Australia, New Zealand and across Asia. She is a non-Executive Director of Clearview Nominees Pty Ltd and also works as an independent consultant.

 

Mitch Prevett is a Group Executive at Quantium where he leads the Retail Analytics practice delivering advanced analytics to retailers such as Woolworths and large FMCG suppliers such as Proctor and Gamble, Unilever and PepsiCo. He has deep experience in consulting at a strategic level on pricing and promotions, forecasting, ranging and customer targeting.

Prior to his current role, Mitch led the Insurance Pricing practice at Quantium and was central in the development of new approaches in price optimisation, risk modelling and competitor analysis. Before joining Quantium, Mitch qualified as an Actuary whilst working at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he pioneered developments in insurance claim cost estimation.

Mitch has a Bachelor of Actuarial Studies with First Class Honours from The Australian National University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
