Registration is now open for the 2017 Actuaries Summit, the Institute’s premier event being held at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, from Sunday 21 to Tuesday 23 May 2017.

Delegates will be able to engage in five plenaries featuring an impressive line-up of speakers and choose from 56 concurrent sessions on a wide range of current and thought-provoking topics.  With 550+ delegates expected, there will be numerous networking opportunities.

The theme for the 2017 Summit is Think Differently; delegates will be encouraged to think outside of their usual scope and explore the following questions:

  • How does the profession need to change to meet the exciting opportunities that are appearing daily?
  • Should actuaries be more involved in diversity and inclusion; climate change; low yield environments; digital innovation, the changing marketplace?
  • How should Actuaries define themselves going forward? Should domain specific nomenclature still be used, or is it time to merge teams of life insurance and GI Actuaries?

Summit 2017 is going paperless!

In the spirit of Thinking Differently, the 2017 Actuaries Summit is transitioning towards a paperless seminar so you will no longer receive a satchel and there will not be any printed synopses or papers onsite.

Please go to the app store and download the Actuaries Institute Events App, where you will be able to view electronic versions of the papers and synopses. The app is available for both android and apple devices. The papers and synopses can also be viewed electronically at the Actuaries Institute Booth and on the Program Snapshot page of the Summit website.

We recommend bringing along an electronic version of any of the following documents you will need:
