Where’s the apostrophe?
Shouldn’t there be an apostrophe in the name “Actuaries Institute”?
No. We consulted grammar experts who assured us that in the context of our new commercial name, Actuaries Institute was not a possessive usage but rather adjectival (it describes the Institute, rather than owning it). As a result, no apostrophe was required.
This has other benefits – it makes the logo cleaner and simpler and avoids the implication that the Institute is for members only!
