Seek an Expert Witness
Please use this form if you wish to request that the Institute:
- nominate an arbiter or expert where the interested parties have agreed to accept the nominated person’s decision in respect of a dispute; or
- propose the name of an actuary (or list of actuaries) to perform a particular task.
Based upon the area of practice nominated, the Institute will provide a shortlist of the names of Members of the Institute who:
- work in the nominated practice area; and
- have agreed to act as arbiters, experts and/or have their names put forward as experienced practitioners in particular areas of actuarial activity.
In providing a shortlist of names, the Institute notes that each such individual is bound by the Institute’s Code of Professional Conduct and Professional Standards. However, the Institute makes no recommendation, implied or otherwise, as to the suitability, or relative merits, of those included on the list for the task proposed. You should make your own enquiries to satisfy yourself that the preferred individual has sufficient and relevant practical experience for the task proposed. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Institute excludes all liability, including in negligence, for damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the ‘Seek an Expert Witness’ service and any professional services provided by a Member of the Institute sourced through the ‘Seek an Expert Witness’ service.
An automatically generated email is sent to the Secretariat when an enquiry is made and you will be contacted shortly.
For any questions please contact the Institute.
Note: Please include the area of practice where an expert witness is sought in the enquiry box below.
