Professionalism Course
The Professionalism Course provides members with an opportunity to reflect on what it means to be a professional. The Course aims to facilitate knowledge of the obligations, risks and legal responsibilities of being a member of the actuarial profession.
It focuses on the Institute's Code of Professional Conduct and its practical applications, the ethical requirements of being an actuary and the dilemmas likely to be faced in practice. The two day residential course also seeks to strengthen the professional network of those attending.
Learning objectives
At the completion of the course, participants should be able to:
- Apply the principles for ethical decision-making
- Describe the obligations and responsibilities of a professional
- Demonstrate an understanding of the key features of the Code of Professional Conduct and the Professional Standards as they relate to your practice area
- Identify situations where other expertise is required and reconcile when the Code of Professional Conduct is applicable
- Understand the legal liability of a professional
- Increase their persuasiveness in meetings and presentations

We have recently made some changes to the Professionalism Course fees to make them more affordable and to provide participants with more options.
Course Fee
Course fee $1645. The fee includes:
- All course materials
- Morning / Afternoon Tea & Lunch
- Sponsored Dinner on Monday evening (Compulsory)
- Course Completion Certificate (Designation Certificates will be distributed by post or presented in person at the Graduation Dinner after the Professionalism Course.)
