Part III
In order to complete Part III, all candidates must successfully complete four half year courses. From Semester 1, 2010 candidates will need to complete one course from a choice of two electives in Module 1: Course 1 Investments or Course 7A Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).
Completion of the Course 7A ERM course will also lead to the attainment of the Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary (CERA) qualification. (NB: To receive the CERA qualification you must have obtained AIAA status.) The Course 7A ERM is comprised of the UK ST9 exam and a two day non-assessed workshop.
Candidates who have completed the Institute's 5 day ERM CPD course will not be required to attend the two day workshop.
Candidates who choose Course 7A ERM as their Module 1 elective will also be required to complete the online Investments Bridging Course which will be conducted by the Institute and available in May 2010 to complete Fellowship. More details on the online Investments Bridging Course will be made available early in 2010.
In Modules 2 and 3 students choose to complete their study in one specialist area of practice. These specialist areas include Life Insurance; General Insurance; Global Retirement Income System; and Investment Management & Finance.
Module 4 Commercial Actuarial Practice is compulsory. This module comprises of 4 days residential course and 8 hours computer based assessment.
